Outline application and conservation area consent for the demolition of the existing building to facilitate the development of a six storey office building (Use Class B1) including the provision of a ground floor retail unit (Use Class A1 or A3) and car parking with all matters reserved except for access, scale and layout.

During discussion of this item Fr C Marrison (on behalf of the trustees of Belmont Abbey Mission Trust), Fr R Simons and Mr A Mossop spoke in objection to the application.

 

The Applicant’s Agent, Ms H Walker, then exercised her right to respond.

 

RESOLVED – on a unanimous vote, delegated authority be granted to the Planning Development Manager to approve Outline planning permission subject to revisions to conditions relating to demolition, to include a satisfactory treatment of the exposed walls of the Chapel following demolition and also subject to a planning obligation to secure a travel plan monitoring fee of £6,600.
