A vote was then taken by way of a roll call.

 

On a vote of 5 For, 0 Against and 1 Abstention, it was therefore:-

 

RESOLVED - That the minutes of the meeting held on 21 August 2020 be signed by the Chair as a correct record.

Local Plan

Minutes:

The Strategic Planning Manager provided a verbal update to members on the Copeland Local Plan, which had been impacted due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

 

The Strategic Planning team were thanked for their continued hard work.

 

A vote was then taken, by way of a roll call.

 

On a vote of 6 For, 0 Against and 0 Abstentions, it was therefore:-

 

RESOLVED:-  that the Copeland Borough Local Plan update be received and noted.

The Strategic Planning Manager introduced the Draft Shopfront Design Guide Supplementary Planning Document (SPD) to Members.

 

The Planning Conservation Officer then took members through the detail of the report and invited comment.

 

Following discussion, members thanked the Officers for the detailed report.

 

A vote was then taken, by way of a roll call.

 

On a vote of 7 For, 0 Against and 0 Abstentions, it was therefore:-

 

RESOLVED:- that the Draft Shopfront Design Guide Supplementary Planning Document (SPD) be referred to Council with a recommendation that the Council undertakes a six week public consultation on the Draft SPD between Monday 10th May 2021 and Monday 21st June 2021.

The Strategic Planning Manager introduced the Conservation Area Appraisals report and handed over to the Planning Conservation Officer who then took members through the detail of the report and invited comment.

 

During the discussion that followed, there was considerable Member interest in the Conservation areas, how they are determined and the work to protect them

 

Members thanked the Officers for the detailed report, which was informative and interesting to read.

 

A vote was then taken, by way of a roll call.

 

On a vote of 7 For, 0 Against and 0 Abstentions, it was therefore:-

 

RESOLVED:- that the Conservation Area Appraisals and their role as evidence for the Copeland Local Plan and when considering planning applications in Conservation Areas be noted .
