Grant of a Licence - Fun Fair September 2021

Background:
Request from Estates and Projects Officer dated 25th August 2021 seeking authority.

Subject of Decision:
Grant of a Licence to hold the Fun Fair from Sunday 12th September to Sunday 19th September 2021 inclusive.

Delegated Power Being Exercised:
Grant of a Licence in accordance with contract procedure rule 28.8.

Decision Taken:
That a licence to use the car park should be granted to George Codona to hold the Amusement Fair on Chapel St Car Park, Egremont. The Fair will set up between Sunday 12th and Tuesday 14th September. The Fair will then run daily from Wednesday 15th until Saturday 18th September between the hours of 2pm and close no later than 10:30pm. The fee for the licence is cited as £1,860 plus £150 admin fee.

The Licensee shall ensure all risk assessments and traders insurances are in place. There is an obligation not to obstruct footpaths and vehicular/pedestrian entrances. All other usual standard licence conditions apply including keeping the land in good and tidy condition, prevention of nuisance, non-assignment, insurance and indemnity.

Reasons for Decision:
The proposed use is to allow the community to come together even though the annual Crab Fair Event has been cancelled for this year due to the COVID pandemic.
